On April 22nd the Animal Shelter of Northeast Nebraska received 11 dogs from a Nebraska dog breeding operation. They are Brittany Spaniels, Cocker Spaniels and Cockapoo breeds. ASNN had a large contingent of volunteers ready to help bathe, groom and our resident veterinarian, Sally Beutler, DVM, was on hand to vaccinate and examine each dog. Thanks to Sharon Schultz and Pampered Paws for helping with grooming!
The dogs appear to be healthy but somewhat underweight and very, very unsocialized. ASNN will work hard to get these pups ready for their forever homes. One has already been adopted! In the meantime the most important thing is for our volunteers to just hold them and talk to them. Please stop by and see for yourself! They are beautiful!
We depend on your ongoing support to make sure the animals who come to us receive the care they deserve. Click here to learn how you can help!
Zero came to us in May 2017 and tested positive for Heartworms. Heartworm treatment is a long process and can have adverse side effects. Zero will be going through treatment until February 2018 when hopefully he will be heartworm free and can go to a loving home.

The shelter is in need of items monthly to help keep the animals comfortable and healthy. Please click here to see a list of items we are always in need of!
